Samsung’s newest watches take health metrics to the next level, while the Watch Ultra takes it up another level, with the power of Galaxy AI helping more people through wearables designed to provide end-to-end wellness experiences for everyone.

AI is everywhere, and it is in Samsung’s latest smartwatches, too. Samsung says these new additions to the Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra are central to its vision for Galaxy AI to enhance digital health, delivering personalised insights and tailored wellness experiences that enable a more comprehensive understanding of yourself through a holistic approach to everyday wellness.

The video below contains my impressions of the Flip6, Fold6 and new Samsung Watch Ultra, so please take a look, after which is a look at the features the Fold6 offers, as well as local Australia pricing.

I was recording on a 4K camera, but after a false start, I didn’t press the record button again on my Camtasia 2024 software, and this is the Zoom backup recording. For some reason Zoom recorded it in only 640 x 320, so I tried some upscaling software, but it’s still fuzzy. Even so… you can still hear and see my presentation, so please enjoy nevertheless!

Note, this video starts from the Samsung Watch 7 section, but if you want to rewind back to the beginning which starts with the Flip6, and then the Fold6, you can easily do so:

Promising accurate, detailed, and advanced information on personal health is a key factor in this process, and Samsung’s accumulated sensor innovations on Galaxy Ring (not yet available in Australia), Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra are “helping bring its vision to life.”

Galaxy Watch7 maximises everyday wellness with personalised workouts along with intelligent health monitoring capabilities, while Galaxy Watch Ultra – the newest addition to the Galaxy Watch line-up – is Samsung’s most capable smartwatch yet, designed for next level achievements.

Setting up the Galaxy Watch Ultra was effortless. Once turned on, your Galaxy smartphone sees it and initiates the effortless pairing process. It’s all straightforward stuff, and you’re even offered a selection of watch apps to download, such as Strava for running, Soundcloud for music and various others.

TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics said: “The latest additions to our wearables portfolio integrate Samsung’s most advanced technologies and innovations, enabling you to take control of your health and wellness.

“The intelligence, guidance and insights that are offered with Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra will help users turn data into meaningful insights and create a whole new era of expanded intelligent health experiences.”

Samsung Watch Ultra – the one I tried – does look similar to the squared shape of the Apple Watch Ultra, but it nevertheless has a circular watch face. Instead of a spinning digital crown, which Ultra looks like it has, you don’t spin the crown, but instead move your finger along the circular bezel to get the same effect, and for some people this will be easier than the spinning crown experience.

You also get the “red” watch face interface at night, something the Apple Watch Ultra pioneered, and at night this is much easier on the eyes, and was definitely a useful feature to copy.

Effectively, this is Samsung’s version of what a rugged, multi-day battery life Ultra watch should deliver, and for those in the Samsung and Android ecosystems wanting an equivalent to Apple’s Watch Ultra, this is most definitely it, and is sure to be very popular with those wanting the best that Samsung can deliver – while also taking advantage of the latest Wear OS 5, the newest version of the Android-based watch operating system.

Kylie Mason, the Head of Wearables and Accessories at Samsung Electronics Australia said: “Galaxy Watch Ultra represents an exciting leap forward for active Australians who push the boundaries of achievement. With our most significant hardware and software advancements to date, it features drastically improved accuracy and performance to better meet Australians’ needs. Whether you are an elite athlete, an outdoor addict or simply someone who values health and wellness, the Watch Ultra is the ultimate companion for those who demand the best.

“Samsung is committed to delivering the best sound experience with greater ease for Australians, and this is reflected in our Galaxy Buds series. Through the continuous development and innovation of audio technology, we’re proud to bring an intelligent sou nd experience to users everywhere through Galaxy Buds3 series, now enhanced further with its new design.”
