Whether it is 17 years as the world’s No.1 TV maker, or 9 years as the world’s No.1 soundbar seller, Samsung’s 2023 range looks and sounds better than ever, with an exclusive video and plenty of detail below!
Last week, Samsung launched its new range of Neo QLED 8K & 4K TVs, OLED TVs, Frame TVs, projectors. Q-Series soundbars and more, with the best 4K and 8K upscaling offered yet, a super smooth Smart TV experience, the free Samsung TV Plus service with more than 90 channels, offering what Samsung describes as “premium home cinema experiences with superior picture quality, breathtaking audio, advanced personalisation, and the latest SmartThings (smart home automation) updates – Samsung is clearly pulling out all the stops to wow you into wanting to upgrade your TV.
There’s even a 98-inch QLED TV, not listed below, that is said to cost less than $10,000, which is pretty impressive!
Afterr all, it was over 20 years ago, whenb early 40-inch plasma TVs cost $20,000 each to buy, but today, things have changed dramatically. While LG is still feted as the best maker of OLED TVs on the market, and even with LG’s own 2023 launch due soon, Samsung has ruled the TV sales roost for 17 consecutive years, according to research firm Omdia, while FutureSource Consulting has placed Samsung in top soundbar spot for 9 years running.
For its TVs, Samsung says “this accomplishment can be attributed to the company’s commitment to premium viewing experiences and user-centred design”, with Samsung’s worldwide TV market share based on annual revenue having doubled from 2006 to 2022.
Cheolgi Kim, Executive VP of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics said: “Our track record of industry leadership over the past 17 years was made possible by our consumers’ continued loyalty and trust in our products. We will continue to pave the path to create the most premium device experiences that go beyond premium picture quality.”
Samsung says it offers a screen for every Australian lifestyle, passion, and living space, and that its 2023 range delivers big screen premium viewing and gaming experiences, while incorporating more personalisation options, and smart home connectivity.
The company explains this year’s lineup focuses on “enhancing the user experience by seamlessly integrating smart technologies into Australian lives more intuitively and more simply while delivering impeccable big screen picture and sound quality.”
Jeremy Senior, the VP of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Australia said: “Samsung understands that technology should empower and enhance every person’s life. That means making big screen experiences more accessible, more intuitive, and more personalised to Australians.
“In combining our market-leading TV innovations with unique software solutions such as SmartThings, we’re ultimately transforming our TVs from being entertainment units to sitting at the centre of Australian smart home experiences.”
Now, before we go to more details from Samsung on its latest TV and soundbar lineup, here’s a video I was able to record at Samsung’s media event, featuring Sam Winkler, the National Training Manager for Samsung Electronics Australia, giving us a tour and explanation of the new models, features and benefits on offer – please watch and read on below!

Bringing consumer passions at the forefront
Samsung’s range of premium screens – from Neo QLED 8K to Samsung OLED – not only bring video and photo content to life in ultra-high resolution but also take screen experiences like gaming to a whole new level. Gaming on a Neo QLED 4K provides a high level of immersive gameplay, from the large screen to high-performance graphic cards that support 4K resolution at fast pace.
In addition to its advanced features for viewing experiences, Samsung’s 2023 AV lineup offers gamer-centric features and services. These include XBOX Game Pass for console-free cloud gaming and Samsung Game Bar, which places gamer controls front and centre, making all the difference between winning and losing in competitive gameplay.
Australians can also personalise their viewing experience with easy access to the latest Samsung Smart TV apps and top streaming providers. The Tizen OS-powered entertainment hub delivers access to Samsung TV Plus, the brand’s free ad-supported TV (FAST) and video-on-demand service that offers 90+ channels in Australia and thousands of shows and movies on-demand.
Solutions tailor-made for your life: SmartThings
Samsung’s 2023 TV lineup is underscored by the company’s commitment to delivering calm technologies and innovations, providing Australians with simple connected experiences that make life better.
Samsung TVs feature Smart Hub which is the centrepiece of the connected home experience that brings Entertainment, Gaming, Ambient options, and SmartThings together in one place. With Smart Hub built-in, content curation and discovery is front and centre, enabling Australians to spend less time searching and more time streaming the movies, shows and games they enjoy.
Via Smart Hub, Samsung’s 2023 range of QLED and Samsung OLED TVs have SmartThings and the Zigbee & Matter Thread One-Chip Module directly built-in. This puts the ability for Australians to quickly, easily, and calmly connect to and control various smart devices and appliances across the home from their TV, providing increased convenience to daily routines.
Making connectivity simple, SmartThings enables users to easily link thousands of compatible smart devices in just one step, allowing them to enjoy the synergy created by Samsung products more easily. From TVs, smartphones, air conditioners, dryers, refrigerators, lights, blinds, and doorbells, SmartThings automates the set-up process, and expands possibilities thanks to the Home Connectivity Alliance and the international IoT communication standard, Matter.
“Samsung is paving the way for smarter homes via support for Matter,” said Mr Senior. “Thanks to this collaborative mindset and the open nature of the SmartThings platform, Australians can build a network of connected devices that makes their home smarter and their lives easier.”
