Michael Franzese was one one of the most powerful mob bosses in New York, with a criminal enterprise generating millions per week, influencing businesses, unions, politicians and more – not only played in the movie Goodfellas, but named in Fortune Magazine’s 50 Biggest Mafia Bosses – and the only man to ever walk away from the mafia.
The infamous real life Mafioso was once one of the Mafia’s biggest money earners, bringing in over $10 million dollars a week. Franzese walked away from “the life”, leaving the “mob” in 1995 after serving 8 years in jail for $520m tax dodge. He credits his time behind bars and his faith in Christianity for giving him the courage to leave the mafia and turn his life around.
Now Franzese is a motivational speaker, and appears in his own show, dubbed “In Conversation with Michael Franzese”, with both events in Australia hosted by Gary Jubelin, the ‘I catch Killers’ podcaster and celebrated homicide detective who is well placed to interrogate a former mafia boss!
